Tropical Cyclone and Rainstorm Warning Arrangements
Scope
This circular provides general guidelines on arrangements in the event of tropical cyclones and rainstorm warnings.
Generally
Tropical Cyclone and Rainstorm management procedures are set out in Chapter 3, Section Two of the Safety & Environmental Protection Manual. Whenever a tropical cyclone warning signal is issued, a Response Team will be available to address campus emergencies. Please contact the Security Control Centre (SCC) on ext. 8999 or 6565 if you need assistance. Announcements that a tropical cyclone warning signal has been issued will be made by SCC. The Health, Safety & Environment Office (HSEO) will issue reminders on precautionary measures whenever a Typhoon Warning Signal No. 3 is hoisted. Please refer to the Academic Registry website for the latest bad weather arrangements for classes "Bad weather arrangement - In Case of Typhoon or Rainstorm (Class)" and final exams "Bad weather arrangement - In Case of Typhoon or Rainstorm (Final Exam)".
